How do you help someone who doesn't want to be helped? What would you try? A family struggles with misunderstanding and despair when teenage daughter Lotta locks herself in her bedroom.
Prinses op de Erwt (Princess and the Pea) is a 27-minute short fiction film about the turbulent dynamic between teenage girl Lotta and her parents when depression and anxiety disorders prevent her from leaving home. She can't, doesn't dare, and doesn't want to. Also stuck at home are Marthe and Paul, afraid of losing their daughter. In a house full of misunderstanding and despair, the family members search for recognition connection and hope with the help of psychologist Fleur.
